Peppermint Mocha Sourdough Toast

An ode to the holidays – peppermint mocha sourdough toast

Cooked with nutritious simple kneads sourdough and a few healthier alternatives like coconut sugar, carob powder; enjoy this holiday favorite guilt free! I’m teaming up with @simplekneads_gf for their 12 Days to Christmas Giveaway.

-Peppermint mocha
-3/4 cup strong coffee or espresso
-3/4 cup milk of choice
-3 tbsp coconut sugar or sugar if choice
-1 tbsp carob powder or cacao or cocoa
-1/4 tsp vanilla extract
-1/2 candy cane or 1/4 tsp peppermint extract
-1 square @ghirardelli dark peppermint chocolate square (optional)

For toast
-2-3 slices of sourdough or sourdough raisin by @simplekneads_gf, lightly toasted
-1 egg

Prepare the mocha in a saucepan.
Heat the griddle with 1 tsp unsalted butter or ghee. I use @kerrygoldusa
Dip the slices in the egg mocha mix and cook them in the pan until lightly brown and toasty… Enjoy immediately with shaved chocolate. I prefer @hukitchen dark chocolate and or some whipped cream!
