How I Stay Hydrated and Energized While Traveling

Why I Start Hydrating Before I Get on the Plane

People often ask me how I stay energized when I’m constantly traveling.

They expect me to have some complicated routine or a secret supplement.

The truth is much simpler.

I try not to wait until I’m already dehydrated.

That sounds obvious, but it’s something many of us do without realizing it.

We rush to the airport, grab a coffee, maybe eat something salty between meetings or flights, and finally remember to drink water after we’re already sitting in our seat.

By then, our bodies are playing catch-up.

Flying Is Harder on Your Body Than You Think

One of the biggest surprises for many travelers is how dry airplane cabins are.

That dry air, combined with long periods of sitting, changing schedules and inconsistent meals, can leave you feeling tired, thirsty and sluggish by the time you land.

I’ve learned that feeling good after a flight starts well before takeoff.

My Travel Hydration Routine

Over the years I’ve developed a routine that works well for me.

The night before I travel, I make an effort to drink enough water instead of relying on caffeine.

Before leaving for the airport, I have another large glass of water and usually eat a meal that includes protein and fiber.

One thing I’ve also added to my routine is Zena Organic Supergreens.

I like the convenience of the single-serve stick packs because they fit easily into my backpack or carry-on. I simply mix one with cold water before boarding or shortly after arriving at the airport.

The product contains 70+ organic superfoods3 grams of fiber, digestive enzymes, prebiotics and probiotics, and it’s USDA Organic with zero added sugar.

For me, it’s an easy way to help fill nutritional gaps on days when travel makes eating plenty of fruits and vegetables more difficult.

Water Still Comes First

I want to be very clear about something.

No greens powder replaces drinking water.

Water is still the foundation of hydration.

Likewise, no supplement replaces eating a variety of fruits, vegetables and balanced meals whenever they’re available.

I think of my greens drink as something that complements my routine—not something that replaces healthy habits.

What I Try to Avoid

Airport terminals are full of tempting drinks.

Sugary sodas.

Oversized sweetened coffees.

Energy drinks.

Carbonated beverages that often leave me feeling bloated during a flight.

Occasionally I’ll enjoy one, but most of the time I feel much better when I choose water first and keep sugary drinks to a minimum.

It’s not about perfection.

It’s about feeling my best when I arrive.

Small Habits Add Up

As an engineering executive, creator and someone who loves hiking and traveling, I know that energy doesn’t come from one magical product.

It comes from consistency.

Getting enough sleep whenever possible.

Moving my body.

Eating enough protein.

Drinking enough water.

Being intentional with nutrition even when life gets busy.

Packing a few Zena Organic Supergreens stick packs has simply become one of those consistent habits that makes travel easier for me.

Not because it’s a miracle.

Because it’s convenient enough that I actually remember to use it.

If you’re traveling soon, here’s my challenge:

Don’t wait until you’re thirsty.

Start hydrating before you board.

Your body will thank you when you land.

This article reflects my personal routine and experience. Greens powders are not a substitute for a balanced diet or adequate hydration. Individual nutritional needs vary, and it’s always a good idea to discuss supplements with your healthcare provider if you have specific medical concerns.
